The DEI Awards

Inspired by our desire to celebrate and amplify the wide range of DEI activities taking place across the region, in FY2023 we launched the inaugural AMIEO-wide Nissan Way DEI Award. It recognises a team and/or individual who is driving meaningful change in the workplace. Each of this year’s nominations demonstrated incredible achievements and progress in fostering a culture of belonging, innovation and mutual respect. Congratulations to our first three winners:

Jonjo Shergold, who supported a team member with autism and acted as a role model for his team

Steve Brindle, who created a neurodiversity training pack to help guide employees at NTCE

Peter Haydon, John Johnson and their team, who have integrated five Deaf operators into the manufacturing environment

The award will now be a biannual milestone in the Nissan AMIEO calendar.

" DEI has a true priority here at Nissan with every employee’s individuality and diversity seen as something to celebrate. Winning the AMIEO Nissan Way Award was a truly humbling experience and something I will never forget.
