Rally for Inclusion
Renault Nissan Technology & Business Centre India (RNTBCI) hosted a two-day Rally for Inclusion aimed at empowering women to gain essential vehicle knowledge including startup checks, under hood checks, jack fixing and spare tyre removal and fixing. We also launched the Inclusive Language Play Book: a comprehensive guide to help colleagues create an inclusive workplace culture.
The event also featured the inaugural Inclusion Recognition Awards, presented to individuals who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to DEI inclusion in Renault Nissan Tech, a 3km inclusion walkathon called #WalkTheProgress and a panel discussion in which industry experts discussed the theme of #BeYourBestSelf, highlighting the significance of authenticity and self-expression in the workplace.
Driving innovation for bright young minds
In FY2023, we gave 150 teenagers a rare glimpse behind the scenes of our R&D facility in Cranfield, UK. Created in partnership with Proactive Young People, the event immersed attendees in the process of developing the vehicles we see on the roads today while showcasing the exciting possibilities of a STEM career.
They also enjoyed a series of interactive, hands-on workshops led by Nissan experts, including:
- Using chocolate for welding and construction to showcase material strength and structural integrity
- Demonstrating vehicle safety in collisions by simulating body structure with crashing eggs
- Using Air Zooka cannons to analyse airflow and aerodynamics
- 3D printing gearboxes and strategically arranging powertrains to showcase their role in optimising vehicle performance and fuel efficiency
